Kathleen Binger was born in the city of Sterling Heights, Michigan. She works primarily in the medium of painting, concentrating in oils and watercolor. Kathleen studied at Kendall College of Art and Design (KCAD) where she earned her Bachelors and Masters degree, majoring in Fine Arts and minoring in Art History. Her recent graduation date was in the spring of 2019. She has made the President’s and Dean's list at KCAD and was awarded the Kendall Portfolio Scholarship. Kathleen has had many solo shows including Midtown Bakery & Cafe in Negaunee, Mi. Her twelve-piece artwork was also hanging in the Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids, Mi in 2016. She was a part of many shows in Grand Rapids, Mi starting in 2011 till present including; Go java Cafe, a XVIII collective show at Spiral Art Gallery, her end of the program thesis shows at KCAD 2015 & 2019, ArtPrize 9,10, & in 2021, Art(ery), and The Alluvium Gallery. At this time Kathleen has artwork at Island Breeze of Mackinac, on Mackinaw Island and The Katydid in Petoskey, Mi. She has earned a teaching job in Art Therapy at Paint a Miracle in Rochester, Mi and is still painting any chance she gets.
